Downloaded the new Jaguar Remote app from the App Store last Friday thinking that it replaced the old version. Just checked my bank account and there's a payment for £3.99 with a reference of REMOTE...surely Jaguar aren't charging for the app too in addition yearly subscription?
Anybody noticed this that has installed the new app?
I downloaded it last week, definitely no charge. You would've had to confirm payment when downloading it too, touch id or what have you. Must be some other app you have accidentally downloaded.
Has your mobile been compromised with a chargeware virus? I suggest you download an antivirus if you haven't already done so. "Lookout" is free and works well. If you use BT Internet you can have MacAfee free as well.
A little disappointed that the new app doesn't give the facility to send/email the journey info/details so that they can be put into a spreadsheet.
Found that a useful element of the "old" app. Anyone else noticed or have I missed how to do it?

Amy, top up any fluids you see need topping up and especially brake fluid. The Adblue will need topping up because if it gets too low the engine will not start. Adblue is available nearly everywhere now and Halfords do 10 litre bottles. Tesco and Morrisons also sell it. The smell on start up may be just the exhaust needing a good clear out ie a fast motorway run for about 30 mins. Not knowing this car I would suggest a full check up at a garage/dealer. Brake fluid is best changed at 2 year intervals. DO NOT rely on dashboard warnings. Your eyeball checks are far superior. Some outlets like National tyres will do a free safety check but be aware that they may also find problems.
On my 65 plate I waited for AdBlue to tell me it needed refill, and then put 10 litres in, you can over fill the tank and get an error message that AdBlue is incorrect quality, as it needs air gap at top of tank to measure properly, why the designers couldn't have put a level gauge in I don't know, later versions do have this in the dash menu system I understand
Bearing in mind that many contributors to this BB are not British and probably have no clue what a "65 Plate" (or similar) means, stating the model year (MY) might be more helpful.

Yes, that is true, but on registering it asks for location. That doesn't mean your full address but an idea of where you are. I have North West UK which points out a large UK area but people know where I am based. There are many who have nothing which can be a bit hit and miss with replies and country variations.
I downloaded the new app (version 2). I still have the old version too. On the app store it says the new app will replace the old app in 2020. I suspect the new app is still at Beta stage as it doesn't have the full functionality of version 1. The following are missing: Wake up timer, Service mode, Travel mode, Edit journeys, Health report etc.
Its actually a completely separate app, not just an update to the original one (dont ask me why). If you search jaguar remote in the play store you should find the newer one there. You'll know the difference from comparing the pictures of the app in the play store

Yep - I've got the new version 2.01 installed alongside the old version that has just updated to 1.80, and Version 2.01 looks like a rubbish beta - a nice pretty screen, and I can use my fingerprint to unlock it, but there is no way to export journeys that I have found.
I have left feedback about that, but I'm not holding my breath...
Oh, and the remote lock/unlock is now on a completely separate page from the alarm, which doesn't appear to be settable!
If I didn't know better, I'd say JLR were trying to confuse us!
Hi Andy, re 2.1 version journeys export, on journeys page filter by date button bottom right and then the export button is on bottom left, this exports and emails you journeys, if you just press export button, you get all journeys sent, which takes a while.
Also one occasion alarm hadn't set, I unlocked and locked and this set the alarm
