Should be.
I never had any letter or email, the car just popped up the offer to update.
I'd wait and see what happens.
The only other thing I have found so far is I had to log back into the nav screen as well as obviously the ongoing login got binned on the update..
Luckily I could still remember the password.......................
Three weeks ago my XE was in with Guy Salmon for engine mount changes and they also updated the Touch Pro software to S19A_19.24.2-375121. In Settings it shows the "Update Software" option, so I have SOTA. Software Updates are switched on (not locked software).
When I select "Check for updates" it returns "Software up to date". How can this be, as this thread is all about S19B.....clearly there is a later version than mine but I'm not offered this when checking for an update. Is the latest being offered in batches depending on model year ( mine is MY2017)?
Your cars require a technical bulletin software update to be performed by the dealer, this then gets your car ready for SOTA. Without this, the dealer or someone with the same level would need to push the updates to you manually. This is why you get the software up to date message.
I had S19A_19.11.4 installed in May and recently was showing H232 SOFTWARE OVER THE AIR outstanding in Topix. Checking for updates was returning the Software Up to Date message for me too but just before I was about to call the dealer the update appeared last Thursday with no intervention.
It still shows H232 as outstanding now even though it has updated to 19B complete with Android Auto and Apple Carplay, so it appears you don't necessarily have to visit the dealer to have this applied.
If you have the ability to check for updates then it is likely 19B will turn up for you eventually, as mentioned previously they are releasing it to the cars in stages automatically. You can always call your dealer to check though.

Exactly right.
Mine was on 19A version 4 which had carplay etc but always said software was up to date when I checked.
As Phil says it seems they are rolling it out gradually so sit tight and wait.
It doesn't appear to be related to age of the car either but as he says you can always give your dealer a ring to make sure you are in the queue.
Once you have 19B the "updates on" and "lock updates" buttons on the screen disappear so it seems you are now "in the club".
I booked mine in 2 weeks ahead with the dealer (Barretts Jaguar Canterbury - who are excellent) for the FOC update and the night before the car told me I had an update to upload. I didn't attempt it and I left it to the dealer. I also had an email from Jaguar telling me I had an update to upload. Maybe they only push some out to the car if they are already booked in to the dealer. It already had CarPlay.
I think it was probably a coincidence in your case, Sod's law at its best! Mine did not have the smartphone pack (no Auto or Carplay) and was not due to visit the dealer (it won't be going there now the warranty has expired and I can finally look after it myself).
It would be interesting to know how they stage the update. Making it available to all cars at once would have likely caused problems for them, particularly with bandwidth so I suspect each morning at Jaguar a script is run that selects a bunch of VINs and switches on the update for them, or something to that effect.
So after days of checking for an update after seeing posts on this forum and not finding any updates... I gave up and booked an appointment with my dealer.
Few days later, got an email from Jaguar saying "we have noticed you haven't updated .. etc". So I went and checked and there was an update waiting now. Got it all updated to newer version , but web browser still kaput!
I was initially alerted by the message appearing on my screen. Left it and went through the "check for updates route" yesterday afternoon and ran the install at the commencement of a one hour journey.
Still downloading when I arrived so switched off and hoped that it it would be done for my return this morning. Nope, still on 18C and running "check for updates " tells me that there are none avaialable. What?
It could be that the download was interrupted by a temporary loss of 3 or 4G.
If you get an alert that a download is available then it should take you to the download option next.
Shouldn't have to do any check for updates.
I'd leave it and hopefully it will pop up again.
The size of the update depends on where you are starting from.
Going from 19A4 to the latest 19B was less than 100mb for me as I already had carplay/android auto.
Others starting on say 18 will have a far bigger download as it has to load more software.
Connecting my car up to my phone tether notified me of the 19B update and all went smoothly.
A question to the people who upgraded:
Have you noticed the EQ on the audio to have changed? I went into my sound settings and bass, treble and sub were all reset but then when I've put them to their normal setting it sounds a lot different.
I've had the car in for a door rattle before (which was fixed with sound deadening tape and cable holders) but the other door also started doing it. Now they've rolled this update out it appears the EQ settings they've now changed to have reduced the rattle. Also noticed the "sub" setting doesn't seem to make as much rear sub impact anymore. Got to really crank the bass setting to get it going.
Interested if anyone else has noticed this or seen someone comment about it on the forums? Maybe I've got blocked ears from all the cold recently and it's just my interpretation!

Yes, my EQ settings were binned back to zero.
I think it's a bit like when someone moves your seat and you don't have memory, it takes ages to get it right again.
I just adjusted them back to where I think I had them before and it sounds ok but I'm sure I'll be adjusting them again!
Cheers Phil, will do.
I don't have a SIM in my car and I don't have an SD card either. I thought I could use my phone plugged into the USB , connected by wifi would work but it doesn't want to do it. Keeps saying no internet connection. Also found a wifi name and password for the car and connected wifi using that but again no joy
To be honest, I think it's far simpler just to get one of the "3" data only sims and sling that in the car.
It will do any updates and a lot easier than trying to use the phone etc etc.
Mine is 12Gb for 12 months, about £30 from Amazon.
Been using them for the last few years and no issues.
You won't have an SD card on the latest models as map updates are done by using a USB.

I went through many pages on the Jaguar web sites and it would appear there is no simple way to just sign in, download the latest map to a stick and just do it. Went round in circles, registered for this and that to no avail it would seem.
