Hi I don't normally get too many texts while I am driving, but having missed an urgent, I have realised it no longer works
Non Pro ICT
iPhone 6 S on IOS 12.1.2
I have done all the usual things, reset BT connection both in car and on phone, checked notifications are turned on in phone against BT
and also reset network settings on phone and started again to no avail.
anyone else had this?

Mine reads out texts and I can reply from the screen been very reliable. I have a Galaxy S9. On my wifes Mazda it works for a while then stops and I have to dissconect the battery to get it working again.

Maybe on the XE a battery off reset may help??

If it's since an update to your phone blame Apple. Their updates always cause issues. Have you checked your Bluetooth connectivity is still ok? Might be worth re-pairing the device to the car
Hi Smoggysteve, as per my original post, all BT connectivity reset both on phone and in car.

Mine didn`t show up on my old Galaxy S7 when I got the car so took it in and they performed a "software update" and that sorted it. My new Huawei phone worked straight away without any issues, and you should be able to text back from the car screen as well (when stopped obviously). All on the non-pro system.

My youngest son has a habit of sending texts using "colourful language" when things are not going well with work, and having the car read them out with the posh lady voice can be highly amusing.
