Is the Halfords Adblue to Jaguar spec?
It's very specific on the website.
I took mine in for the (free) Adblue top-up when it needed it, But Halford's DIY is probably simpler for next-to-nothing next time.

I believe GreenChem make the Halfords Ad Blue and probably the Jaguar Adblue? As the Adblue information sheet on Halfords directs you to the GreenChem page.

Just an update on Vespa's top up method, I had warning come up, so bought 10l of ADblue (correct spec checked) from Shell garage, and I had one JLR bottle, used bottle, and then attempted to top up from 10l can with its on screw on spout, that was rubbish, leaked from bottle spout where spout screws on, so looked at re-using JLR bottle, actually very easy, unscrewed top from bottle using gas pliers, and filed off lugs (used to doing this for my missus with bleach bottles, child proof, they are adult proof) on bottle, and job done, top can be removed easily and bottle filled up, via funnel.
Job done

Simple method the same as my redex one. I bet some younger people would not think of that. Brought up on Meccano and old bikes and cars to gain the DIY knowledge.

With regards to the topping up of this ad blue the jaguar video show how to connect the little bottles x2 and where to connect them to and squeeze the bottom of the bottle am i right i thinking that if one has a larger sized bottle of this Adblue then all they need do is connect and fill it full and that this then refills the system as required without having to go to your dealer to do the same thing and most likely charge for doing so ??

If you have a larger bottle, you just top up as needed - like you would with screen wash. The system will take a few minutes to register the refill but then you should be good to go.
If you have a service plan on your vehicle, you can go to any Jaguar dealership and they'll refill it for you free of charge (and provide coffee whilst you wait).

Just a note to say you should not fill it to the brim, according to tech docs, a gap has to be left in top of tank, otherwise sensor will whinge
I believe MY18 cars have a level indicator in vehicle info menu.
but earlier models have no indicator at all, very poor for something that is important.

Does anyone know the difference between 'DEF Top-up' and 'DEF Refill'? The Jaguar video says you may need to top-up but at the next service get the dealer to do a 'Refill'. Surely enough Top-up is all that is needed or does the whole fluid need changing at service intervals? The handbook doesn't mention this.

All it means is top-up with a small bottle to keep you going then get the dealer to completely fill the tank up

By "refill" they mean that if come the service you still have the original adblue it should be drained and refilled with fresh.

Today the low adblue warning finally came up at 19500 miles. I had bought 10L of Greenchem some time ago so was all ready to go.
What an easy job!! No need at all to mess about decanting into smaller containers and screwing them on to the filler. I just put some rags round the filler cap in the boot, screwed the supplied flexible tube tightly onto the the container, unscrewed the filler cap, pushed the flexible tube in and poured. The tube had a slot down one side so there was no gurgling or back pressure and the 10 litres went in in no time at all and not a drop spilt.
I can see no point in filling the tank to the brim. I'll just wait for the next warning and pour in another 10 litres.

Thats fine if you have the screw on adaptor but some makers of bulk do not have screw on adaptors hence the decant mathod.

Definitely worth making sure you get one with the proper pouring spout then! I notice Halfords no longer stock the Greenchem and now have their own brand (made by Tetrosyl) at a lower price than before and it does include a pouring spout.
