Re: Automatic or Manual

Another vote for auto. My first Jag was a manual and it was great. But the auto gearbox is so much better. I only use the paddles for a bit of fun - using the 3 modes gives me plenty of choice in normal circumstances.

Wireless Software Update Soon

Just received an email from Jaguar advising there will be an OTA update "soon" and how to install it. Will be interested to see if it works and whether my car still functions perfectly afterwards

Re: JLR Announcement

The BBC version: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-48875406 It mentions a range of EV's going to be built at Castle Bromwich. No surprise as they have been saying for some time they will eventually have a full range of EV's and hybrids. Not sure about starting with the XJ though. Who buys those??...

Paint Surface Warranty

I don't need it (yet) but does this actually mean in practice what it says? Not that I don't trust warranties ;)

Should there be a cover here?

Getting into car yesterday and noticed a hole where door hinges are as per photos. Checked and the same on passenger side.

Is this correct or should these openings be covered?

Thanks.

Re: My first xe

Hi Phil. I can only echo Vespa's comments. I did about 50k on my diesel 2015 reg XE R-Sport and apart from a few minor niggles plus (software updates fixed them) the usual with stop/start which was rectified by a new battery under warranty, and air con failing (again done under warranty) it was trou...
