Re: Warranty Query

Does anyone know if the warranty history (not service history) is available anywhere? This was something I asked my local dealer (Stratstone Cardiff) to provide just before my 3 year warranty finished so that I had a complete record of work completed during the warranty period. They said they were ...

Re: Recording Independent Service

When my XE was serviced the dealer still gave me a printed invoice with the reg number VIN etc & all details of what was done. The online service record isnt hugely important. A paper full service history is better imho. Why not just keep the receipt and details of work carried out from your indepe...

Re: Voice recognition

I haven't used it much, but I concur, it seems to have a mind of its own. I asked for BBC Radio 2 and got "no media selected" then later it switched to Radoi 1 though I'd said 2. I haven't tried it with the phone as I dont make calls when driving. Nothing changes Mike :) :) :) https://www.xeforums....

Re: Getting my music on to a USB flash drive

I appear unable to put any flac files onto any of my devices and media player reports incompatible and folders of Cd I transferred are empty? Any thoughts. From what I read flac files are lossless but huge and not generally supported on most devices which is probably why you have a problem. Why not...

Re: Anyone changed their own pollen filter

For those interested in a bit of DIY, I have just replaced the Cabin Pollen Filter in my 2015 XE. Not sure about later models but I assume they are the same or very similar. The filter is located in a housing behind the glove box and considering it's a regular service replacement item, it really is ...

Re: ECU Remap and Air Filter

Glad it all worked out ok Alan. I have just bought a K&N filter and will probably fit it next week. I did have a look at the old filter a few weeks ago. It was previously changed at the first service. It isn't difficult to replace. Just undo the torx screws around the edge of the top of the filter h...

Re: Car is very jerky for first couple of minutes, normal?

I've had my XE (2.0TD 180ps R-Sport) for a few weeks now. I've started noticing that when I set off and drive slowly around my local roads, the car feels very jerky. It almost feels like some sort of unstable regenerative braking whenever taking the foot off the pedal. Is this normal? That is defin...

Re: Stop-Start. A different query

Say or think what you will, but start stop will definitely affect component life. This is a big part of the reason I chose to disconnect mine. +1 Exactly what I think. It is bound to increase component wear and will nacker your battery well before it should be nackered. I always switch s/s off and ...

Re: Stop/Start again a few thoughts

I am convinced that if you use S/S, over a period, you will steadily nacker the battery to some extent and reduce it's useful life. My car will soon be 4 years old. Still on the original 80A/H battery, never been charged other than by the car system and every single time I forget to switch S/S off, ...
