Re: Forward alert + AEB = pedestrian detection

A little confused - the 2018 model online "handbook" dicusses the "pedestrian AEB", How does this relate to the foregoing?

Re: Hi everyone

Difficult to find but the extra £300 odd per annum for 40k+ models still aplies to post 2020 VED except for electrics and first year tax will have gone up with the new WLPT CO2 figures. The real squeeze will be if they go ahead with one proposal to make annual VED equal first year which for an r dyn...

Re: MOT due soon?

I seem to recollect that proposals for a 2 year cycle for MOT were ditched because of detriment to the finances of garages not on account of increased hazard. Being something of a maintainer / tinkerer my only MOT failure in living memory was of a "slightly loose number plate" so I will welcome a 6 ...

Re: Retrospective RLF increases :o

The government missive gives an address for comments, I am sure expecting none as few will have got as far as finding the document in the first place. Re: Updated gear selector XE

Having sampled the new stick shift auto on a loaner e-pace I have to say I much prefer the "old" selector on my XES. I understand the change was a cost saving as Jaguar's licence for the rising Knob had run out and was not renewed. Originally I was very disappointed not to be able to get a manual ge...

Re: Road Rash on the skirt area just in front of the rear wheels

For original poster - istr that this problem was less on cars fitted with the r sport typs sill embellishers rather than standard plain sills- how does this figure with your previous and present rides?

Re: Sat Nav

Not a great need for sar nav (non pro) but I do notice at times the scrolling ceases and I have to move the screen by hand to "find"myself again. Is this a common finding or have I missed something?

Re: Insurance renewal

Interesting premiums seem relatively low bearing in mind that repairs must be expensive given the unconventional structure (aluminium, glue etc) so perhaps we are seen as more careful than the average!

While you're at the dealer get him to apply the latest stop start fix if you want it to work.
