Re: Autonomous hybrid XE coming in 2020?

It has it's uses. If you want to cruise along in a line of cars, slowing when they slow and speeding up when they do then it works well. I you are driving a little faster then it has it's problems.

This topic is about HiD lamps as in Xenons which are quite a different ball game to changing Halogen bulbs.
:D
So that's why it says 'Re: HID bulbs' above every post. I was wondering about that.

Until he gets the red mist and road rage.
I get a lot of that. I spend most of my journeys cursing and moaning about other drivers. My wife spends most of her journeys in the passenger seat moaning about my moaning. It passes the time as we don't have the radio on. :D

Hi PaulC, That looks pretty awful to me; picture of mine below. wheels straight ahead etc.

Cheers, Rob.

Rob, I hope you didn't reverse down that stone-walled narrow road/drive just using the rear camera picture. It looks a certain way to get scraped paintwork. :)

Re: Hybrid cars

A traffic jam of purely EV's is still a traffic jam and therefore "congestion". I hope your post isn't implying I am in any way dismissing or neglecting the serious issues caused by pollution ? My post was pointing out the irony of the term "congestion charge" which all along should have been a "Po...

Re: HID bulbs

I've always assumed that it's much the same as for the XF. The halogens on my XFS were poor so I changed them for some more powerful ones. They were much better but they didn't last more than about six months so I got a lot of practice at bulb changing. It was easy except for one bolt that had to be...

Re: Fire extinguisher

A friend of mine was travelling with others in a taxi. The taxi was involved in a shunt accident and he was trapped by his feet in the front passenger seat. A small fire started and he was badly in need of a fire extinguisher but the taxi didn't have one. As they were on a road in the countryside th...

I suppose in a way they are now actually going with the title of the charge as an EV or a hybrid occupies the same space on a road as any other car so therefore contributing to congestion in it's literal sense.
But not to lung congestion, ask anyone with asthma. ;)

Re: Joy and pain

I suppose as we're all so many different shapes and sizes that car makers find it near impossible to make a seat that will fit everyone. Apart from that you seem to have had a good car. I just hope that you've had the sense to have an extended test period with the Volvo so you don't have the same pr...
