Re: Someone tried to steal my XE last night

There is a new thing in our area - unlock the car, take the contents and lock it back up - they’re not taking the car itself. I suspect a lot of people leave things in their car, which is making this worthwhile.

Re: Automatic or Manual

I found the hill start assist on the manual wonderful. The only time it didn’t work so well was in snow and ice, as you have to put a number of revs on to get it to release, which could be interesting.

Re: Infotainment Software Upadte S19B_19.35.5-418001

From personal experience, phone your dealer and ask if your car is able to do SOTA. Mine is an early 2019 model year Portfolio with Pro and is capable of using our home WiFi but is having to go in to have its software updated to allow it to do the latest update. I got so far and it’s now “stuck” say...

Re: Software over the air

Has anyone had issues with the update getting “stuck”. Mine has been saying it is downloading the software for 3 days but this is as far as I’ve got. I’ve tried connecting to my onboard SIM card, using my iPhone as a hotspot to use its data tariff (during a long journey to the south coast) and also ...

First Birthday

I have now had my XE Portfolio for a year and have to say it’s been flawless. No issues or problems (apart from some frustrations with Pro) to report. I’ve only done 7,000 miles so far but have to say I’m loving it. I went from a manual 163 Prestige to an automatic 180 AWD Portfolio and don’t regret...

Re: Someone tried to steal my XE last night

This is the first time I have seen a report of an XE being stolen locally. It must have been a horrible experience.

Re: Smart Motorways (Again)

We are told smart motorways are safe, but seeing stories like this are not helping to convince anyone. https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/news/derby-news/lorry-ploughs-back-broken-down-3327201 I thought the idea was that in the event of a breakdown or problem the lane would be closed off, which seems ...

EV Rescue

Could the truck have been any more disproportionate? The poor elderly gent’s mobility scooter ran out of battery and this is what rescued him.

Re: Sharing the Roads

I was appalled to see the story yesterday of a cyclist going through a red light and nearly colliding with a pedestrian. The cyclist then stopped, got off his bike and went back. To apologise I hear you ask. Not one bit of it - to swap verbal pleasantries with the guy he had narrowly avoided and the...
