Re: automatic box whines going up and down gears

Well I've put a 1000 miles on the car and so far so good. But amazingly I was sat in my garden the other day and heard a near neighour's F-Pace 2019 go past our drive, that familiar whine sound. I went to see him about it, he hadn't heard it,all that insulation and radio. But got it checked out by J...

Re: automatic box whines going up and down gears

Faulty batch of bearings apparently & later design is better to. Although an inconvenience having later modified parts is a blessing in disguise. Keep us posted how it turns out. Do we know when the faulty batch occurred?, as my car is a MY20 MK2 XE, registered new last October, I'm surprised those...

Re: automatic box whines going up and down gears

Our neighbour has had two sets of balance shaft bearings on his 18 reg Discovery. It made a whining noise inline with engine speed. All fixed now. This sounds more logical, will see Spot on it's the balance shafts, going in July 20th for 2-3 days engine out job. As stated by capese21 my dealer has ...

Re: XE Production Restart

Solihull I believe produces product that is sold to China and that market has V recovered straight down and straight backup. Unlike what we expect in Europe which is a U recovery several months of slow movement and then a return to a kind of normal? The XEL that is sold in China is locally produced,...

Re: Badge Question

As for why it's written "35t", the 35 is roughly your horsepower. The 't' likely stands for turbocharged (though I'm sure yours is supercharged), as opposed to being naturally aspirated (which no XE is). 20d = 180hp diesel Up to Model year 2020 20d = could be tuned to a 163hp or 180hp diesel in Eur...

Re: automatic box whines going up and down gears

just a reminder, this is a MY20 car, not a launch year car and the F type I spoke of was also the latest model year. That's my issue, why are the latest cars suffering this issue, my car is the post upgrade and is only 6 months old. Will have to wait until lock down is over to get it into the Jaguar...

Re: automatic box whines going up and down gears

Doing my weekly trip out to the supermarket this morning, in these interesting times. A late model F Type 180D was leaving the supermarket car park and as soon as he accelerated I heard the same whine as my car makes. Now both the XE and F Types have been around several years now, so can somebody ex...
