Re: Phone texts not appearing on ICT

Mine didn`t show up on my old Galaxy S7 when I got the car so took it in and they performed a "software update" and that sorted it. My new Huawei phone worked straight away without any issues, and you should be able to text back from the car screen as well (when stopped obviously). All on the non-pr...

Re: Question for those with service plans

As above, I cannot remember if I had anything through the post but they always know when you take the car in that it has a service plan attached.

Re: Driving an XE in UK snow / ice

I found the standard Pirellis to be poor in low grip conditions. I fitted a set of Michelin cross climates a month ago and it seems far more sure footed in greasy/damp conditions but obviously have yet to rest them in snow/ice. Time will tell.

Re: Fuel Consumption - Jaguar XE 178bhp 2 litre diesel

That does seem uneconomical to me. I have the 178bhp, although with a manual gearbox, and generally get into the 30`s when I do town driving.

Re: Advice on brake pads please

I also need new rear pads at 23,000 miles and was puzzled why they wore out first so that explains that. Fronts look about half worn which I think isn`t at all bad for the mileage.

The manual transmission is a pig of a box, thats why is was discontinued.
I am really interested as to why you say that. I am one of the very few that chose a manual and I find it to be an excellent box, light and positive.

Not picking or moaning by the way, just interested?

Re: Dashboard lights

Apologies if this is a stupid question, but are you sure you have the lights on? If they are not then the rest of the buttons will not illuminate. The DRL`s are so bright sometimes it could be missed.

Re: Wheel Spin

I have the same issue as Vin, I find it extremely easy to spin the wheels (180D) on certain cambers, when pulling away enthusiastically and also on grass/damp surfaces. Daft thing is the traction control had never crossed my mind (not used to having such a thing in a car), I now wonder if I have an ...

Re: Manual gearbox problem

I believe the manual gearbox version has been discontinued now, no idea why as most reviews I saw said it was an excellent box, so I got a manual 180D and I agree, mine has an excellent gearchange and clutch action.

Re: Auto start stop/ folding mirrors

When I took my diesel into Grange Exeter and got a petrol courtesy car the stop/start never worked. I mentioned it when I returned to collect my car and the service bloke said that it is common for it not to work on petrols.
