Re: Recommendations - Towbar fitting

Sorry Vespa but I don’t need another look, I know exactly what instructions I was looking at on TOPIX. The instructions I looked at on Topix were for fitting a detachable towbar NOT the cycle carrier. This shows the full fitting process, from removing the boot floor, removing the bumper to fitting t...

Re: Recommendations - Towbar fitting

The full fitting instructions are available on Topix without paying for a subscription. I had a look but unfortunately they don’t specify a part number for the insert. Maybe printing it out and taking to a dealership could help identify it.

Re: Recommendations - Towbar fitting

The towbar I had in my Mazda 6’s were just loose in a bag, a huge pain in the neck.

Below are a couple of shots of the one in the XF, I don’t know if I have a photo of the one in the XE.

Cheers,

Re: Recommendations - Towbar fitting

With the Jaguar towbar (on both my both XE and XF) they provide a polystyrene insert that fits under the boot floor with a cutout for the towbar and a strap to keep it in place. This fits around\over the battery with a cutout for the support for the boot floor. This is in cars without a space saver ...

Software over the air

I know I have moved from the XE to an XF but as they share the same technology I thought I would share this here for those interested. Today, before setting out for work, I tried the software update button. Instead of getting the usual 'software is up to date message' I got a 'software update is ava...

Re: Approved used car dishonesty?

The service history can now be accessed online from Jaguar without a customer account (previously needed), all you need is the VIN, see the following link:

Re: Broken down within 24hrs of purchase

My XE was the 2015 model which only warned of AdBlue being needed near the end of the tank, I had the dealer top it up on a service before it was needed and the next time was when the car gave a warning on starting. At that point I was not near a Jaguar dealer but took it into a Landrover dealership...

Re: XE or XF

We went from XE RSport to a MY19 XF RSport. The main consideration was rear room space for endlessly growing teenage boys who would be too cramped in the XE on long journeys such as our holidays. The XE drives in a more sporty way, however the XF handles exceptionally well for a car of its size. Eco...
