Re: Dealerships washing cars

Wash my CA--- What, are THEY INSANE?! I own a BRG model from 2017. Do you know what BRG means? It means I have the nearly LAST Jaguar XE in British Racing Green (no, actually I do have the absolute ONLY LAST, since PhilB traded his in---dammit all, PhilB!!), in my timezone. British Racing Green attr...

Re: Eco mode

 Ahhh, the advantages of owning a barely-subdued Tier-3 in Petrol, instead of an impossible to discipline “S”. Take the word of a prude: Eco is a fine way to budget your expenditure of fuel and energy if you are a casual operator of the throttle on moderately long errands. The trouble is that e...

Re: USB music playback problem

:| This was one of the earliest issues I remember reading on these Jaguar forums… didn’t matter if you had an XF, F-Type, whatever. From what I was able to read from all those threads, the head unit (combination of music signal processor and a computer processor) has a glitch. Not all units that com...

Re: One too NEW tyre...

    Whaaa! Sob and sob :( . …and Whaaaa   some more. I suspected all along that the advice would be to amend the single-tyre. I was just foolishly hoping against hope that I wouldn’t have to spend money changing out tyres so far ahead of my plans. You’ve given me a clea...

Re: Sunglasses holder

Here in the US dealerships, it shows up in these two part numbers below. Yes, for the XE compartment, and it lists as sunglasses holder--overhead console,… but no mention of XE year or tier. Both numbers are described as Oyster color, but the second retails ONE US DOLLAR cheaper than the first. So y...

One too NEW tyre...

I took an injury to one of the tyres, and the specialist (a bunch of people I respect) replaced the ONE tyre for me under warranty. Identical Continental ProContact that comes with the car from factory. That’s great, but it’s also not “great”. This new tyre is mounted on the front of my RWD XE. The ...

Re: Steering in ECO mode?

 ..... Traded it i---- NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....... (stopping to wipe some tears, and wipe the snot a bit, inhale deeply)--OH, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!  ...PhilB. All these months I thought, "he's got enough to own TWO cars,---he didn't dare get rid his green----BRG? No ...

Muffler Language?

I’m learning a lot from owning a performance car, and even more from it being my first RWD, first Turbo, and being a Jaguar with those musical exhaust notes. Mazerati growls musically, Alfa, Abarth,… and I even heard Porsche’s elusive growl the other day for the first time (FINALLY….Porsche is so di...

Re: Steering in ECO mode?

I always thought that ECO mode just toned down the acceleration and gear changing, once you're cruising in top gear it can't make any difference, can it? I think you are right. Once in the cruise the revs will be the same and accordingly the economy too. Trouble is if you then need to accelerate qu...

Re: With the luck of the devil . . .

I don't have a problem with the production quality. That means a plastic bit will come loose, or your infotainment will suddenly become a Liverpool Suppporter, or an electronic fid-fad will wink at you annoyingly during night driving. I'd be interested in the drive. The XE has me because it just "dr...
