Re: Stop start not working and now aircon stopped

Yep, new condenser fitted so lovely AC but still no SS as expected. I’m not fitting a new battery to fix it.

Re: What happens at the end of the 3 year warranty?

Having always serviced my other cars I’m going to DIY my car with 61000 miles covered. I’ve already got cheap National Breakdown cover in place. Kwik Fit are going to do the oil change @ £72 as the car is so low to the ground and also Castrol works out at £70 - they use Fuchs to the JLR spec. I’ve g...

Re: Stop start not working and now aircon stopped

I see these as totally separate issues. My 16 plate XE stop start has not been working for around a year but sometimes surprises me and starts working again for a couple of times on a journey. The dealer looked at it a couple of times and it worked again at first but I have given up on it now. Most ...

Re: Aircon service

Does anyone know what is the refrigerant capacity of our cars? Can only find details of older cars on the web.

Re: XE Air conditioning

Well just had mine regassed for £180 plus Vat at an independent garage as now just out of warranty. What a rip off. Put the AC on for the first time this year only to find no cooling at all. Garage tested system, was OK but said it was completely empty so suspected a leak. Put the dye in so will tak...

Re: Roof Strip Removal/Refitting

Yeah these clips are really weird. Managed my strip without needing any tools though, just trial and error I’m afraid. Took me several attempts until I was happy. Reckon the clips are designed for single use only. Good luck.

Roof Strip Removal/Refitting

Noticed the near side roof strip was loose today but just pushing down would not engage it. Thinking I could clip it back on if I removed it, this is what I did. But now I’m struggling getting it back on again and I have now also lost one of the rubber end finishers. Can anyone help with how to refi...

Rear Brake Pad Replacement and EPB

Just a tip when changing the rear pads. As we have an Electronic Parking Brake this has to be de-activated to release the pads but the car will re-apply the EPB automatically after a minute or so if turned off using the button. There is a special sequence using the car controls as follows to disenga...

Re: Wheel Skip and Tyre Wear

Interesting and great photos. I am getting 21000miles from my fronts on Dunlops and I know someone who has managed 27000miles. I got to see his printout and when compared to mine are broadly the same. Good luck with your dealer mine just said 21000 was not bad and so did Jaguar Customer Desk. I reck...
