Re: Eco mode

Go out to your car and apologise right now and promise to never ever do it again.
It's like getting a thoroughbred horse to pull a bloody cart!

Re: Eco mode

A bit of an odd question. Why not just switch to normal mode if you want to be a bit quicker off the mark. All S will do is keep it in gear for a longer period, which will not help economy one bit. When I first got my car I drove in eco mode for a while, but like you got fed up with the slow respons...

Re: Dealerships washing cars

I'd have to have one saying please clean my car. I must confess that on both occasions my car has been in my local dealership, they have done an excellent job and worth the £10 I pay for insurance for the loan car as I see this as payment for the clean.

Re: XE end of life in 2023, autocar article.

I think Jag need a small sports hatch, a bit like the Merc A class or BMW 1 series. If there is a market for these German cars there must be a market for a Jag equivalent.

Re: Favorite Petrol Fuel?

I always try to use Esso petrol. It was the best for my Mazda 6 so have continued to use it in my XE. I'm certain the car runs smoother and the mpg is better than with other makes.

Re: One too NEW tyre...

Have you checked the tyre pressures? Different tyre pressures can give you a similar problem and it may be the new tyre has a much higher pressure than the remainder and would tend to make you feel the road surface more. However, I would still consider changing the old tyre as previously suggested, ...

Re: History of Jaguar XE Petrol Engines.

The XE petrol Ingenium engine appeared in the UK early 2017. I have the 200 Ingenium and the only issue I have is the noise when it is first started from cold. As soon as the revs drop to 750 rpm it's a sweet smooth and refined engine. The engine oil is also quite expensive at the moment. I can't an...

Re: Stop start after a new Battery

Like most here I try and remember to turn it off but I was particularly keen to get it working on the basis when I sell the vehicle I want to ensure there's nothing that could "de-value" it and also with one eye on future MOT's when the dictate will suggest if s/s if fitted it must work. Perhaps I'...

Re: Advice please

Yes I think there is a difference in performance, having driven both. I have the 200 Ingenium, which suits me most of the time, but that little bit of extra power you get from the 250 is nice to have at times. I think you will find the mpg figures fairly similar so very little extra cost there. I mu...

Re: Uneven Tyre Wear

The steering judder is normally attributable to wheel imbalance. Get the front wheel balance checked at your local tyre dealer. The tyre wear could be down to the front wheel alignment being out. Pot holes can cause this. Again a visit to your local tyre dealer would sort that one out. I don't think...
