Re: Looking into an XE...

If you are looking at a petrol model then you should be OK. The 65 plate will have the Ford engine, which has proved to be reliable. A forum member, only last week, added this comment: "Just had a what car! Reliability survey land in my inbox (sept5 2019) The Xe petrol came joint 4th (out of 22 ) fo...

Re: XE S : what a Beast of a car. pic overload

A pretty stunning looking car I must admit. I particularly like the rear badges being black. It just would not look right if they were chrome.

Sorry Bazzamf, I hate black wheels on any car - grey yes, black no.
That's fine 147daytona. It's purely subjective and thank God we are all different . I still love the bike.

Re: Squeak and coolant

Rattle have been fixed by changing the whole turbo but the squeak now happens all the time irregardless if it’s cold or hot. Just pressing the ignition button without stepping on the brakes to start the engine makes the sound A squeaky starter button? That's a new one for me. So am I right in sayin...

Re: My pair of Red & Blacks

A lovely bike, unfortunately I'm too old to take it up again, although I would love to. The only thing I would change are the Jag's wheels, they really need to be black.

Re: Winter tyres

I fitted some Avon winter/snow tyres last year and have kept them on the car. They are so much better in the wet than the original Dunlop tyres and the ride's a lot smoother. They will be staying on the car until they wear out.

Re: First MOT

If memory serves as part of the approved warranty there is MOT insurance, so it may be worth checking - if this is the case then having it done by the dealer may be the best way to go. I think you are correct BevC. Without checking my paperwork, I'm certain there is a sum of either £300 or £500 tha...

Re: SatNav update problem.

That's interesting PhilB. I have until May next year before the warranty expires, but I don't have the Touch Pro system, I only have the basic Touch. Do you know if this system is also covered for free map updates? If so do you know how I achieve it? Ah, in that case your updates will be done with ...

Presumably you are out of warranty? Pro system map updates are free for the warranty period. That's interesting PhilB. Re: SatNav update problem.

Bazzamf For updates go on line to: https://jaguar.navigation.com/en_GB/JaguarEMEA/GBP and follow the instructions, bearing in mind the stick capacity problem. Thanks David, I'll give it a shot. I had a look at this site and couldn't believe the cost of the upgrade. Could buy a new sat nav for what ...
