Re: Would you say this seat wear is acceptable?

I understand BB72, but with the compression the crease suggests is occurring, rubbing would continue onto the inside of the bolster as someone slides into the seat. The face of the bolster would take the brunt of the abuse, but the inside would still be affected. Your photos unfortunately appear to ...

Re: Engine warning - smoke from dip stick

Hi Chris, Is it just an engine light or do you have a message centre message also? And are you aboslutely sure it is smoke and not simply vapour. A wamr engine will give off visible wispy vapour from the dipstick outlet or from the oil filler if you remove the cap. That is perefctly normal. Vapour (...

Re: Would you say this seat wear is acceptable?

BB72, I think the general feeling from this thread is that you should feel entitled to walk into Jaguar and insist on a fix for what you have. If your dealer is not giving what you want, then try Jaguar directly. They will probably refer you back to your dealer but you will have that direct contact ...

Re: Condensation highlevel brakelight

Captain Noddy, I would get it fixed now if it is faulty. Up to now mine has been OK. I wonder how many cars from MY 16 are still out there with faults not fixed because they have been company cars and their owners can't be bothered. There are hundreds of cars, of all makes, out there that are or ha...

Re: Condensation highlevel brakelight

My car is MY16 and my dealer said the replacement unit is the same as the original so a replacement would quite possibly run the risk of a suffering the same issue - hence so many here that are on their third or more unit. Anyone else heard that? I am going to wait until closer to the end of my warr...

Re: DASHCAM

irishtaff, I have a cheapo ApeMan dashcam installed with rear camera too. I have hardwired it without any trouble and used a Nexcam hardwire kit in the passenger footwell. When it comes to airbags, I used this to give me some peace of mind about where to pass the wires: First Responder.pdf You can s...

Re: Piston Slap noise on cold start and high oil consumption at 11,000m..

Tha'st weird of the Jaguar Assist guy!! Checking Oil won't make anything fall off! If the car wasn't level I would disregard his reading anyway. Personally, I would only check the level cold if the car had cooled down from warm if you know what I mean? Unless you waited a decent long time after your...

Re: Piston Slap noise on cold start and high oil consumption at 11,000m..

If you checked the oil level immediately after cranking and starting the engine then it will under-read as a lot of the oil has just been sent around the engine block and up to the cams etc. Have you checked it again since? The correct way to check engine oil is to have it cold (and also not recentl...
