Gesture boot not available in the UK on the XE. I spoke to my dealer this afternoon and after some checking by them they confirmed that the gesture boot feature is not on any UK XE. The explanation about it being detailed in the handbook is because the handbook is used by multiple markets worldwide...

ColinR, may I ask how and where exactly you do the gesture kick for the bootlid as i have the Power Convenience Pack with powered bootlid and keyless entry but have not managed to get the gesture facility to work? Mine had its first service a couple of weeks ago including some software updates and a reset of the stop / start trigger sensor. They did adjust the tyre pressures so I started getting low pressure warnings so I had to top them up a bit. Everything seems to be as it was before including radio / satn...

Go for it Bev, but don't expect the XE to follow a Rangie or Disco off road! Did a lot of off roading in a Disco years ago. Great fun. The LR experience course was a great starter and gave immense confidence in what the car could do. Having said that I think the XE is the worst car I have ever drive...
