Re: Phew

sounds like it could have been tree sap. My first line of attack is normally methylated rather than white spirit. seems to be less aggressive.

Re: Green pond

Would quite frankly ignore any factors like pipe size for flow rates. I just went for 25mm reducing to 2 x20 ( I do have a split system controlled by 2 valves ). Unless of course you want to include number and type of bends, and friction coefficients of the pipe type in your thoughts  ( as a no...

Re: Green pond

Thanks Devonia, I didn't know about the pond weed. I have just put a new UV lamp in my filter. My pond is about 3000 litres. Think about 20 fish in it, mostly about 2 to 3 inches long! I have 3 floating planters in the pond but no Lillies! What make of pressurised filter did you use? I'm looking at...

Re: Green pond

Btw. I have used both normal and pressurised filters and the normal ones are certainly easier to maintain. Don't believe the hype that you just reverse the flow in the pressurised ones to clean them. It does half a job. Did you change the uv bulb and clean the glass? That can make a lot of difference

Re: Green pond

Yes. I use pressurised filters. They are no better than ordinary filtration systems but are more discrete. How big is your pond ( litres) , do you have weed, and roughly how many goldfish. Pump should be big enough to change water frequently ( every couple of hours) If you are overstocked then the w...

Re: Green pond

Most algicides work fine. But then water goes green again later. Pond weed is best. Uses up nutrients in the pond that the algae relies on. If you have a local facebook site ask there for some. Pond owners usually have loads. I take bucketfuls out every year. If you stock up your pond, you will then...

Re: Attention all you with keyless entry!

You are correct. The other sort requires the press of a button to unlock (ie a physical action), whereas true keyless work on a continuous signal and so can be relayed

...I go the kitchen foil route, works perfectly. I'd get the Aldi ones as a backup but I'll have to pass due to the lockdown.
Looking at the ops post you can order them online ☺

Just past 4 years (Feb 16).
One month older than mine. Life expectancy on an agm battery is 4-5 years. Longevity has a lot to do with maintaining the charge over 80%. Below that sulphation will start.
Mine does a lot of sitting around normally so probably has had too many deep discharges
