Re: Screenwash

Decosol or Shell own brand only for my XE . Raspberry coloured Halfords product can hardly show any performance in the colour.

Re: Slippery Steering Wheel

Application of leather cream will feed the leather, making it supple and squishy and miles grippier. In addition , I wear deerskin Italian driving gloves bought at Hackett shopping outlet in Bicester village, near where I live.

Re: Hybrid cars

A traffic expert who devised routes for smoother safer journeys for high security trucks and vans crossing London at the time, informed me that the city was crammed with roadworks , which were all removed the moment the congestion charging came in. This of course earned Livingstone huge brownie poin...

Re: New member and 1st Jaguar

It would strike me buying a diesel, then adding a tuning device, it would work out the same buying an Ingenium petrol, then you get a real performance benefit, twin tailpipes for aesthetics, and the added fuel costs even out when you factor in tuning boxes etc. to almost make the diesel on a par. (U...

Re: Replacing damaged tyres - Stick with Dunlop?

The most competent (by far) Tyre dealer in my area states (and it's not me saying this), that Michelin pilots widen the handling and cornering envelope, making the driver feel much better at driving and cornering skill than they actually are in reality , I remember someone fitting wider tyres to a V...

Re: XE Performance

Jaguar used to be consistently much heavier than their rivals (Mercedes-Benz, Ferrari) at Led Mans in the 1950's , yet used to beat them consistently hands down . However, on twister tracks such as Nurburgring, Jaguar had a much tougher time . Jaguar were the first with disc brakes, and most importa...

Re: Premium Fuel

The point being missed is that premium diesel preserves DPF's as it burns with less soot (known fact) , and both types of premium fuels clean the engines and lubricate bores , which is useful if you're an old fart like me keeping my XE petrol long term.

Re: First impressions

There has been no mention on new car purchasing of dealer contributions and low APR lending rates on PCP finance. I bought mine with a Privilege Car buying scheme as a contractor employee of JLR , of which the discount was cancelled out by the options I needed . Looking recently, the same savings se...

Re: "Allow apps....Tick....."In control apps not available.....etc...etc

Situation solved , whilst staring at my iPhone last week in a bored moment , I noticed the button ‘Jaguar apps’ , and pressed it . It went shaded , I think added small lettering underneath “refreshing” , which showed up as the filling clock face . Taking this as a cue , I retried the system and hey ...

Re: Driving an XE in UK snow / ice

The ice academy trip is better value and more beneficial than rival big manufacturers. 1) It uses the ex Ford motor car ice proving ground that Jaguar bought off them, many times bigger and longer designed than the rest 2) Range of new Jaguars 3) Top notch food and accommodation, e.g. tasty moose bu...
