Re: Common spelling fails.

A major cause of the problem is not the poster's lack of knowledge, but the computer's readiness to show what it deems to be the correct spelling. Much as I loathe Trump, I'm prepared to accept that much of what he tweets was entered into his phone correctly, as with today's example, "liable" when i...

Re: Stop start not working and now aircon stopped

Since my gateway module was sorted out my stop/start has been working perfectly. Tell your dealer to check that module.

Re: Common spelling fails.

Who went to the pub last night.... myself and a friend. Nooooooooo! I'm with you there. I remember hearing Nicky Campbell use "myself" incorrectly on Radio 5 Live once. Five minutes later a chastened Nicky admitted over the air that his mother had just phoned him to tell him off for it. Loath and l...

Re: Insurance renewal

I've found the same with Direct Line. It's been a long time since I've stuck with a motor insurer for three years.

Re: Sharing the Roads

I was crossing a road in central London a couple of weeks ago. I was two thirds of the way across, and the light was still green in my favour. A Lycra lout came through at speed, head down and heading straight for me. I shouted at him. He didn't attempt to slow down, just a slight swerve, and he del...

Re: Winter tyres

Last winter, my first with the Jag, was the first in more than twenty years when I've not put winter tyres on. The difference was marked, even on cold, snowless roads. But I'm not doing the mileage to justify the expense now, and as I'm retired I can stay at home if the forecast is grim.

Re: Sharing the Roads

I'm loving reading these posts, especially the one from the fellow who can't stand the fact that other drivers don't go as fast as him, and the one from the poster who hoots and flashes his lights at someone who's clearly a nervous, and probably inexperienced driver, and who then gets upset when cri...

Re: Now and then, such a fool, such as i

I'm feeling pretty stupid, too. The first time the car told me that the tyre pressures were low, I got down on my knees and craned my neck in an effort to read the plate in the door frame showing the correct pressure. Yesterday, the warning came up again. This time, before getting down on my hands a...
