Re: Petrol or diesel???
And for me; IMG_20201010_022953.jpg That segment of a trip ended up at 267 miles long, with an indicated economy of 40.1 @ 66mph average. This is the rather good virtual instrument panel display on the pre 2020 facelift XE. The rev counter and speedo swap places when you go into dynamic mode so the...

Re: Mechanical Knocking front right quarter
"But, I noticed 2 things: - The sound comes only when the right hand front wheel is going over some bumps or manhole cover, left side doesnt (usually) make any sound - And if I'm dragging on brakes even just a tiny bit when going over bumps or a manhole cover, there will be no sound. So, again this ...

Re: Road rash
I've found that the "chipped" protection film (which looks almost as unsightly as actual paint road rash on a dark coloured car like mine) can be disguised quite well by using TurtleWax Colour Magic polish in an appropriate colour and working it well into the indentations in the film.

Re: Map Update Engine Running
I can’t seem to get this latest map to download to my stick. It keeps stopping. Never had a problem last time. It’s doing my head in all this update to stick and transfer to car 🤬 Yes, the last update I downloaded to the USB stick I keep for map updates kept stopping the download. I'd not experienc...

Re: Map Update Engine Running
In fact I find a map update is a good excuse to go for a trip in my XE - there are little or no other reasons to do so at the moment!

Re: Possible freebie for some
Call me an old cynic but I suspect this freebie will inevitably lead to a suspiciously large list of things that need doing immediately, otherwise "the car won't be safe on the road, sir".

Re: Can I ask a favour please?
That's a useful fault finding chart, and it does cover brake pedal hard or excessive brake pedal force required as symptons of a fault in the vacuum system. So you'd think that a JLR dealer would be able to check this out, and not just dismiss it as "normal". Slightly off-topic, but another reason f...

Re: Can I ask a favour please?
Since the pedal travel has changed since you had work done, it does seem that something has been disturbed, thus allowing a slight leak in the brake servo vacuum system to occur. I find I can leave my XE for up to a week or so before the pedal travel becomes less before starting it up. I confess I'm...

Re: Random gift
When I picked up my new XE the dealer gave me a Jaguar umbrella. This is quite useful but unfortunately it is too long to fit in the rather small XE boot in any way except diagonally. This then hogs quite a bit of space, so I don't carry it in the car, which rather defeats its utility!
