I've found that the "chipped" protection film (which looks almost as unsightly as actual paint road rash on a dark coloured car like mine) can be disguised quite well by using TurtleWax Colour Magic polish in an appropriate colour and working it well into the indentations in the film.

In fact I find a map update is a good excuse to go for a trip in my XE - there are little or no other reasons to do so at the moment!

When I picked up my new XE the dealer gave me a Jaguar umbrella. This is quite useful but unfortunately it is too long to fit in the rather small XE boot in any way except diagonally. This then hogs quite a bit of space, so I don't carry it in the car, which rather defeats its utility!
