Re: Insurance surprise

A lot depends on where you live as well. You're not kidding... I've got over a decade of no claims, the last points went on my licence when Jim Callaghan was running the country, and I'm just over 60. But my premium would pay almost three of some folks on heres  :D But there aren't many plac...

Re: Stolen :(

Oh for something as simple as a distributor rotor arm... Based on my experience with a scroggy little Suzuki 120 motorbike, back when the world was young, if the thieving toerag can't start it easily, it is likely to end with a visit from Sam and his mates, in their bright red lorry  But at l...

Re: Radiator grill

My first car was an exceptionally rusty 11-year-old Austin Maxi, and I remember being amused at all the people in other Maxis with cardboard over the grille at the front in winter. The Maxi, of course, was transverse engined, with the radiator hanging off one end, and large air slots inside the app...

Re: Service warning

Mine switched to saying "Service Required" on the birthday of it's previous service - It was already booked in for its annual service a couple of weeks later, just before the cars birthday! I managed about 4000 miles between services, while keeping to the lockdown requirements, almost all in August ...

Re: Insurance surprise

Insurance renewed now for a price I can live with... Got a couple of quotes I was relatively happy with, and then rang up my existing provider to cancel. "What is your best current quote, Sir?" Give them a slightly lower number.... "The computer says we can get within a pound of that" So I'm now onl...

Re: Swapped the XE for an XF Sportbrake!

Only for a day, while the XE was at Listers Solihull for its service and the cooling fan software upgrade :D For the fan software upgrade, was this due to a noisy fan that you flagged up? Noisy fan seems to be an issue on some E-Paces. Not a problem I'd noticed, it was something showing up as a pos...
