Re: Independent Servicing

I've heard really good things about Prestige Jaguar in Paisley, but no first-hand experience I'm afraid. I plan to take my car there once out of warranty.

Re: First MOT

I went with my dealer for first MOT on my approved used car, in part because of the MOT guarantee that was part of the purchase. However, at the same time I gave them a list of issues I'd had with the car which were all addressed with software updates and the car has been great since... (obviously t...

Re: Pirelli P7 Wet Performance

Yes, that's why I said "coincidentally"... I've been keeping a close eye on Powerproof for a while now as my tread depth is getting towards my trigger point. It looks like an excellent match to my car, driving style and the Scottish wet climate...

Re: Pirelli P7 Wet Performance

I'm currently eyeing up a set of Nokian Powerproof tyres. Completely coincidentally my supplier pointed out the Nokians came out top in Auto Express recent tyre test...

Re: Stop/Start again a few thoughts

Got the car back from its dealer visit (they had it for 3 days). It received software updates to the BCM (slow clock), GSM (throttle hesitation) and PCM (start/stop) modules. I have noticed a new start/stop indicator on my instrument panel that was not there before (green A with circle when start/st...

Re: First time Jag owner!

I'm very fond of Quartzite, I think it's an amazing colour! Currently running a courtesy / loaner XE in white - several colleagues have come up to congratulate on my "posh" upgrade! They reckon the white looks better than my Corris Grey, but I'm not convinced... The wife also prefers the white!

Re: Stop/Start again a few thoughts

I'll definitely try hard not to be fobbed off. On reflection, I think the CCA statement is interesting. He's either saying that the car isn't charging the battery sufficiently (fine, software update for that?) or that the battery is lacking capacity (new battery?). Mind you, I'm taking the whole sta...

Re: Stop/Start again a few thoughts

My XE is currently with the dealer for start/stop investigation. I got the dreaded "battery's fine, cca is too low for start/stop to operate" feedback. I hope they'll do more actual work fixing it tomorrow!

Re: 2.0 Diesel dreadful throttle response

I dropped my XE off at the dealership this morning, throttle response was one of the complaints I flagged up. My courtesy car is a 67 plate r-sport XE with the same diesel engine, and no hesitation that I've noticed so far! The courtesy car also has flawless start/stop, another issue I'd flagged wit...
