Disc question (Brembo)

Hi

Has anyone here fitted Brembo aftermarket discs, specifically, the pillar cooled ones listed on the Brembo site for the XE-S, and if so, how are they holding up in terms of corrosion?

Many thanks for any input.

Just a thought, what grade of fuel are you running it on there? Some lower octane fuel may lead to knock, the engine will pull timing in the first instance, but may also richen the mixture to lower the charge temperature.

As long as the sidewall wasn’t actually damaged, I suspect the punctured tyre will be repaired and sold as part used....
If it has been run fully flat, it will be properly and visibly damaged.

Re: Radiator grill

What goes around comes around. Years ago I had a Healey 100/6 which used to take an age to warm up. I bought a kit which was basically the same as a window blind with a bowden cable routed back into the cab. Although there was a water temperature gauge, nothing was automatic and there were no bleep...

Re: Alloygator experience

I'd look at getting some sort of repair. Where the lacquer has been damaged, moisture will get in, followed by spreading corrosion.

Re: New 2016 XE S owner - but I need your help

Hi ChrisGB, That is interesting, however, as the filter becomes more blocked and becomes more effective at capturing smaller particles, so the pressure drop across the filter increases. The effect will be a lower pressure and reduced oil flow to the mechanical items with the engine relying on the l...

Re: New 2016 XE S owner - but I need your help

Something to bear in mind; an oil filter doesn't reach it's maximum filtering capability until it is partially dirty. Changing it too frequently could cause premature engine wear. I'd be interested in knowing the science behind that or is this an urban myth? Having spent over 20 years in the lab an...

It's worth checking with the dealer. It's not unusual for dealers to use generic photos, especially for interiors. Get them to email you a photo of the interior / dashboard of the car you are considering.
