Re: Someone tried to steal my XE last night

Hi. Do I detect some confusion here between 'Keyless Entry' and 'Smart keys'? My understanding is that 'Keyless Key' fobs have buttons that need to be pressed and all XEs have these keys. 'Smart Keys' don't need any buttons to be pressed and the doors open when you approach the car. Am I missing so...

Re: Dunlop sportmax tyres perishing

What's annoying is that I've been driving for 40 years, I've always bought middle range tyres as I don't drive like I've stolen it! I tend to keep my cars for a while so have had tyres on for 4-5 years with no cracking. I buy the XE with only 6000 miles on the clock fitted with a premium brand (Dunl...

Re: Jaguar Remote App

I'm using android and cannot find an export function on the new app. It's still possible to download them from the jaguar incontrol webpage though.

Re: Someone tried to steal my XE last night

Keyless entry can be turned off with a few presses on the keyfob. Mind you wouldn't have helped me today. Car been stood for over a week. Both remotes decided to have flat batteries at same time and wouldn't lock/unlock or open boot. Luckily the keyless entry still worked and I didn't have to use th...

Re: Someone tried to steal my XE last night

My 2005 Renault Scenic has keyless entry so it's not a new technology. Mind you it's not worth nicking. You would have thought that because it's been around so long it would be thief proof. I do like the keyless entry on my XE and if you are worried about it being a security issue it can be disabled...

Re: Sharing the Roads

Indicating on roundabouts. Following a VW the other day through 5 roundabouts. Not one indicator was used even though traffic was waiting to get onto the roundabout. Also those that stop at the entrance to a roundabout as they can't look for traffic before they get there. As for those that go 40 mph...

I thought that petrols were every year and diesels every two.
There is a website where you can check service history. I'm sure someone will find it before long and include a link.

You have to be of a certain age to remember him. Most on here are far too young! Don't be so certain.  You and I Vesp old son, are but two in hundreds on here.  Unfortunately I also fall into the old codger class. First car Austin 1800. I've serviced all my cars until I bought...

Re: XE To Be Included in Jaguar Fixed Price Service Scheme

Not sure. They are a Jag Specialist garage where they only maintain and service jaguars. I assume that they have access to the system somewhere.
They updated it and printed hard copies off as well.

Re: XE To Be Included in Jaguar Fixed Price Service Scheme

I get my XE in about 4 weeks and I am a bit concerned about servicing costs. From what I've heard so far, Dealers seem to make the prices up as they go along. In contrast with my last BMW which uses condition based servicing, it got it's first service at 20,500 miles and was nearly due it's 2nd ser...
