Re: DPF Clogging

That's a very sorry tale and some of which (at least from a distance) doesn't seem to read right. If there had been problems with the DPF then the car should have warned you and gone into "restricted performance" mode. That should have been your cue to sort matters out. The fact you also report over...

Re: Insurance renewal time again....

I get the same thing every year with my cars. I take the view that if the increase isn't in line with inflation (which it seldom is) I look further afield. Ninety nine times out of a 100 I find it significantly cheaper elsewhere but before I commit I ask the current insurer to match my new found pri...

Re: Do you Diesel Guys use Premium Diesel?

Oh how I wish I was allowed a camera at that now demolished refinery. Anybody and everybody's tankers were all filling up from the same outlets. This is why I will continue to fill up at a supermarket with a fuel that meets the expectations of the engineers that designed the car I drive and not some...

Re: Do you Diesel Guys use Premium Diesel?

Hmmm, having been involved in supplying fuel control systems at a now extinct refinery, I can absolutely confirm the self same fuel is loaded into all suppliers tankers. As such I've long had doubts about the myth of premium fuel and based on what I physically saw. Yes there maybe some token deterge...

Re: Am I being ripped off for software update?

Software on a battery - nah! Software is within the car and does need to be told when a new battery has been installed which is not your case. The point is you bought the car which was supposed to be fully functional unless you were told otherwise. Clearly it isn't ergo warrenty foc fixes need to be...

Re: Am I being ripped off for software update?

Rather sounds to me as if you are dealing with chancers. They are talking bowlocks. Is the dealer a Jaguar franchise or other? When did the manufactures warrenty run out?
