Reliability survey

According to What Car's? survey (see link below), Jaguar is the 4th most unreliable brand. Not my experience certainly. Maybe it's the brake disc issue that's let them down?

Re: Recording Independent Service

When my XE was serviced the dealer still gave me a printed invoice with the reg number VIN etc & all details of what was done. The online service record isnt hugely important. A paper full service history is better imho. Why not just keep the receipt and details of work carried out from your indepe...

Re: Mot time

Has anyone else had problems with their first MOT? A number of posts have been made concerning scoring of brake discs, for example and I wonder if anyone has failed the MOT or picked up advisories?

Roadserve

Has anyone here used an outfit called Roadserve? I was given free membership via Churchill insurance and apparently they arrange servicing and MOT's for you via their website. You can choose either main dealer or independent and a price discount is achieved as they can obtain "fleet rates". They cha...

Re: Incontrol remote premium renewal

I've just filled in the form for an insurance estimate on Confused.com and it's asking if I have a tracker fitted. Looking at my "InControl Secure" paperwork it says I have a "Thatcham Cat. 6 Stolen Vehicle Tracking System" fitted. Confused want to know what brand of tracker I have fitted and the dr...

Re: Black wheels, are they practical?

I like the overall look, but yes it shows up more when you've scratched them. Scratched mine badly against a concrete lane barrier coming out of a multi-storey, partly due to the poor side visibility of the XE. Bought a repair kit via ebay that has covered it and doesn't look too bad - unless you ex...

Eco mode

I've switched to Eco mode to save fuel and average around 48 mpg in mainly suburban driving. Obviously it's not quite so quick away from traffic lights / roundabouts; will switching the gear selector to "S" help or does Eco mode override this?

XE advert on LBC

Has anyone heard the advert for the XE on LBC radio? Whilst it's mainly about 0% finance deals it starts off with a ridiculous amount of revving, the sound reminiscent of my old Ford Cortina. Nothing like the sound of my Jag and not something I would have thought attractive to would-be buyers!

Re: Convert you XE to a Land Rover

I wonder what that is all about?? Corporate fraud. :D If they're getting the service dates wrong it does rather beg the question of where they're getting the information from (unless of course it was the call centre operators fault). I know it's a combined company, but why would the Land Rover arm ...
