Re: Oil consumption on 2.0 diesel

I had a Ford mundano diesel with apparently similar symptoms - oil leaking from turbo into EGR valve. When I took the EGR off it was blocked solid with a nasty mixture of soot and oil.
That required a new turbo, after much haggling with the extended warranty people.

Re: Broken down within 24hrs of purchase

I had a bad quality Adblue message with a 500 miles countdown to when the car wouldn't restart. Fixed by a software upgrade courtesy of Jag assist. The following day I had an EML amber light on, no other message - fixed by Jag Assist who 'primed' the DEF system by running some sort of utility proces...

Re: Rear Badges

I got my R-Sport badge via eBay, if you search this forum for ‘rear badge’ there’s a few threads that come up.

Re: Face lift model

I've got to agree with Delboy on that gear stick. The rotary selector is one of the (many) reasons I like being in my XE. Drove a new auto Evoque the other day and really didn't like the gear selector.

Re: What type of system do I have?

Re: What type of system do I have?

If its 8" screen with physical buttons down the sides then its the InControl i.e. not the IC 'Touch', if so then I believe it won't support Apple whatever it's called or Android CarPlay . If it's like mine then it will struggle with Jag's own App. depending on your phone and cable. No great loss the...

Re: Pads and discs at 20k?

Mine are just starting to show some corrosion on the rear disks and have obvious scoring. I was expecting to be told that new discs were required at the recent service but the mechanic said it's not a problem. It will be if they continue to deteriorate I'd imagine. 17k miles over 22 months

Re: 1st service cost

the online service booking site was showing £397 for the 2 year diesel service, which is basically just an oil and filter change with a 'bronze' valet and a video of the car underside thrown it. I did have a service plan so the invoice didn't show the actual cost, I just paid ~ £70 for a brake fluid...

the above was for Diesel btw, so be worth checking petrol for yours - I'd expect air filter is the same, maybe not fuel filter ...
