Re: traffic sign recognition

I also find that it can sometimes be a bit too sensitive - I was recently driving happily along at 30mph with the auto speed limiter switched on and passed a side road with a wonky 20mph board - the car got very upset as it thought I was going 10mph over the speed limit.....

Re: Warning of BT scam

We get quite a few of these - not quite sure why they would want to cancel my BT phone & broadband when I don't have either...... Like Pete McK, I tend to play along with the scammers (figuring that the longer they are on the phone to me, the less likely they are to actually scam someone). If I'm bu...

Re: Dash cam memory card degrading...

There are various opinions regarding cards for dash cams, but looking at various reviews/forums, the majority seem to suggest that 'ordinary' cards are unsuitable due to the continual write/over-write activity in a surveillance device - I've just ordered a Kingston 'Endurance' card for my new Viofo ...

I think it switches itself on below 4c - seem to remember it being configurable via the menus....

Re: Replacing damaged tyres - Stick with Dunlop?

Wider front tyres will almost certainly rub on the wheel arch on full lock - not good for the tyres or the car.....

Re: Replacing damaged tyres - Stick with Dunlop?

It's worth checking out the online suppliers as well as there is far more choice . My last tyres were from Blackcircles - delivered directly to a fitting centre less than a mile from home and fitted at a date/time convenient to me for considerably less than I could get them locally... I've also had ...

Re: Keyless entry fault

Mine is temperamental when it's wet - I'm also having to train myself to keep my hand away from the handle area as I close the door, otherwise the car seems to think I'm going to open the door again and refuses to lock. I typically touch the sensor on the rear door if the driver's door is being awkw...

Re: Favorite Petrol Fuel?

Was the other car an unmarked Police car? With a radio. No - pretty sure it was just another petrol-head....I think the policeman just heard a load of car-related noise and decided to stop the next car that came along (particularly one with a fairly loud and distinctive exhaust note as the Capri ha...

Re: Favorite Petrol Fuel?

 You can only get done for exceeding the speed limit. Nothing about how fast you get to the limit! Many, many years ago (when I was young and foolish) I got into a late night, city centre traffic-light 'test of acceleration' between my Capri 2.8i and an RS2000. Very shortly after we'd bo...

Re: Rear Camera

Tried mine the other day (MY18 with Advanced Parking Assist and the non-Pro ICT screen) - quite happy showing me what's behind at 30mph.....I'd guess ColinR is correct when he suggests it's related to whether the front parking sensors are switched on...
