It actually caused a rear spring to snap due to excessive downforce.
I suspect it was just another dodgy spring, it was the plaque of the average car market in that period :)

In reality, you’d added too much drag for the car to go fast enough to generate any significant downforce ;)

Re: Climate Control Not Working Correctly?

The issues we have seen before are when either side is blowing at a different temperature (despite the temp being set the same or synched). I think there was an SSM of some kind a couple of years ago and it was due to some flap or something not opening properly plus the usual software update. I hav...

Re: Your opinion please

Did a bit of research last night and I came to the same conclusion as you Prof. Interesting to read above that the petrol Ingenium engine has the balance shafts but no reported problems that I can find anywhere. Bob It’s an interesting engine family, why the diesels should suffer and the petrols no...

Re: Your opinion please

From everything I have read it appears to be only diesels. The Ford petrol engined ones are fine and I have seen no reports of the new ingenium petrol engine having a problem, I am not even sure that petrol engines need the balance shafts. Bob Any piston engine could have a balance shaft included i...

Re: Most annoying driving habits?

Do you always drive on the paddles then :?: No, but i can anticipate road speed signs and traffic, and reduce or increase speed accordingly, auto box has me in a good gear always, and with 300 ponies, it has enough get up and go if needed. Jeez  far too many hills and corners around here for...

Re: Most annoying driving habits?

Prof Pat Pending "Holding up traffic even whilst doing the speed limit is as illegal as speeding ;)" How do you work that out? Several years ago I was caught by a mobile speed camera at 65mph whilst overtaking a slow vehicle on a straight road with a queue of cars tailgating me. (I guess they were ...

Re: Most annoying driving habits?

If I'm overtaking a lorry and I'm already doing 70 then tough ;) I'm not going to speed because someone behind is being impatient and wants to brake the speed limit :P But that would be a 10mph differential, which (in my book at least) is acceptable ;) Holding up traffic even whilst doing the speed...
