Re: Thanks for help - new XE ordered

As long as you aren't using your left foot on an imaginary clutch and hitting the brake!!! It can take a while. To start with try tucking your left foot back towards the seat and well away from the pedals. Stick with it and it will be ok. Yes, I've not actaually had any mishaps or caught the ...

Re: Thanks for help - new XE ordered

Well done, :D and a nice little drive after pickup will soon get you used to the auto box, after ** years of manuals, :| i worried over the auto box, now i wouldn't go back, love it. :D I think I must be in the minority here. This is my first ever auto in 35 years of driving and (as I'm doing mostl...

Re: Just ordered MY19 XE!

Just to add another "the meridian 380 upgrade is worth it" opinion. Myself, I was tempted to go for the top meridian surround version but needed to keep the list price under control. It is amazing how quickly adding options ramps up the list price! I'm spending a lot of time on UK motorways at the m...

Re: Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

I'm afraid it's a dealer job to update the software to the most recent "18C" version. Then Carplay/Android auto can be enabled with the smartphone pack which as you can see may well be at cost. That's really quite disappointing. My car came from the factory with 18C and I know I would make good use...

Re: Any Formula 1 fans here?

I don't disagree that Hamilton is a brilliant driver and I also always support him because he's British, but that doesn't mean I'm wrong that he's always moaning, even when he's winning  I'm not really arguing. In fact I agree, he moans a lot (bit he's not the only one)! Strange breed F1 drive...

Re: Any Formula 1 fans here?

If you read back, you’ll see what I actually said about there not being much between Seb and Lewis. I know James well, I’m very aware of his abilities as an engineer having worked with him on and off for about 25 years. I’m also very aware of his ability to to talk to the press, I’ll have a chat wi...

Re: Any Formula 1 fans here?

I’d say inferior was stretching things a little too. A Merc has been on pole for more than half of the races, that’s rare in an inferior car, however good the driver is. I don’t actually think there’s much difference in lap time between Lewis and Seb, everything being equal. Granted the Ferrari is ...

Re: Any Formula 1 fans here?

Inferior! Inferior to what? Ferrari and Red Bull may have caught up a bit but saying the Mercedes is inferior is stretching it a bit. Debated by a lot of people on a lot of web forums. In my view "inferior" isn't stretching reality at all. If you are a regular F1 observer you would have seen the ma...

Re: Servicing

The thing about servicing today is that the majority of it is checking functions for wear and tear. Yes, I understand where the costs come from, but the parts prices are very inflated. I wouldn't dream of getting my car serviced anywhere other than a jaguar main dealer while it is in warranty. I'm ...
