Re: Time to say goodbye.

I think the A4 would be better car in every respect other than looks and driver feel. I have to say that my A4, being a Quattro model, has an excellent "driver feel" though I haven't had enough experience with it yet to properly compare it with the XE which, being rear wheel drive, was definitely w...

Re: Time to say goodbye.

Sorry to see you go Martin and thank you for your contributions over the years. As one of the "originals" on here you have been through the initial issues and snags with the car like the rest of us early adopters. I hope your Panzerwagen gives you just as much pleasure as your XE and I also hope th...

Time to say goodbye.

Well, I joined this forum on 6/8/15 before taking delivery of my XE the following day. It has been a pleasure and an honour to be a member of this extremely knowledgeable and friendly community, where I have picked up lots of valuable information and hopefully contributed a bit as well but, as is al...

Re: Happy Birthday

Mine will be 3 years old on 7/8/18. Had it in for its first MOT today and delighted to report it sailed through, with the tester commenting on what a lovely car I have. :)

Re: Adrian Flux Insurance Services - up to 15% discount for XE forum members'........

Is there a landline phone number as the 0344 number quoted is chargeable for most mobile phone users I think 0344 numbers are treated as normal landline numbers as regards charging so if you have free minutes then they should come out of that as per a normal landline. This came about after the clam...

Re: XE Air conditioning

Mine's going in for the same warm driver side vents issue today. They've warned me that if it's due to wear and tear it'll cost £450 for the regassing (after a leak test) alone, not under warranty. The vanes on the central driver side vent became loose a while ago and they're saying that it's possi...

It seems the "stone damage" excuse is still being trolled out when in fact it's looking like a cheap or faulty batch of condensers which shouldn't fail this early into the cars life.
Phil, I reckon you are absolutely spot on on your assessment.

Re: Faulty air conditioning.

Take a laptop with you if you can and, if they try to get away with "Wear and Tear", refer them to this thread.

Best of luck,

Martin.
