Re: So I've finally found something that annoys me with the XE!

Up until 1976 a London cab had to carry a bale of hay in the boot. They are still classed as hackney carriages and the hay was to feed the horse. Talking about old laws that still exist: It is illegal to die in the House of Commons. London was always a bit peculiar traffic-wise with the Metropolita...

Re: So I've finally found something that annoys me with the XE!

The thing I've found that is really annoying is the filler for the screen washer bottle. It starts off much smaller than other cars, but when you open it, expecting to put a funnel in before pouring the fluid, you find there is just small segment of the diameter to pour into with the rest covered of...

Re: 2015 XE - Advice

I bought my 2017 20D Portfolio AWD last January. It was on 10k miles and I got a 2 year Jaguar Approved warranty. So far the car is going very well, and I'm very pleased with it. The heated seats and steering wheel are a real boon at this time of year. The only two things I have had to get done have...

Network used by InControl

Here in rural Cheshire, (actually about 2 miles out of Crewe !), when I go on the InControl app on my mobile phone to check the status of my XE sitting outside on the driveway, it eventually comes back to say the car is uncontactable due to being in a poor coverage area. OK, I should wrap up like an...

I'm not sure how you're going to keep your driving licence if an XE R 3 litre isn't fast enough for you !! Do you have an "arrangement" with the local plod ! If so, please let us all into the secret.

Re: Brakes

I have owned my 2017 XE 20d AWD Portfolio from January, and have been very agreeably surprised at the lack of black dust from the brakes onto the wheels. The wheels now stay cleaner for a lot longer. These are Jaguar pads, BTW not aftermarket.

Re: I am absolutely gutted

Parked up in disabled bay - came back to vehicle put in reverse, and next thing I know without hardly touching the throttle we have shot backwards at a high rate of knots So, to put the car into Reverse, one must first press the brake pedal to engage it. Then if one removes foot from pedal, the car...

Re: Someone tried to steal my XE last night

My XE was parked in a quiet residential street in SE London last night Obviously not quiet enough ! I can't believe the thieves just cruise around looking, they must be observing a location on a regular basis in another car to see what comes and goes. There are now additional security features goin...

Nice colour, but I would not like to have the privacy glass. I see no point in it, to be honest.

Re: I heeded the advice

Glad you like it ! Mine's a May 2017 Portfolio 20d AWD. Only problem is being May 2017, I am whalloped with Georg Osborne's VED supplement for cars with a list price over £40k. Car is really nice and I say this having swapped a 2007 XJ6 Sovereign for it. I just lurve the heated steering wheel when w...
