Rear Differential

Has anyone on here ever changed the oil in their diff?
My XE is coming up to 80k so mite be worth doing.

Also what fluid does it take? Will normal gear oil suffice as it’s only on open diff?

Re: Squeak/rattle

I will be doing some investigating this weekend and I’ll post if I find anything useful, like Hillmangt said it takes the edge of an absolute brilliant car

Re: Squeak/rattle

I’ve now moved onto wedging things down good to see if it makes any difference. I read somewhere on here that the rear shocks can squeak mine seems to be an interior rattle.

Has yours got folding rear seats? Mine has not ☹️

Squeak/rattle

Have any of you experienced a squeaky rattle coming from the near side parcel self/C pillar area. Happens at any speed on a bumpy road surface.
I’ve prodded and poked around the area and can’t find anything out of place.

Have any of you had similar experiences?

Re: Used High Mileage XE

Can’t help but think 2 year service intervals or 22k miles has a part to play in timing chain faliures

Re: Brake Pads Low

Hi Saxondale, I used ChipsAway in Kiddiminster. Did an outstanding job on a cracked bumper on my XE. Not a million miles from you. They charged about 140 all in
