Re: Vibration at tick-over

I don't know what the current thinking on shocker longevity is, but in my day it was around 30,000 miles, so at 24,000, I would suggest that an imbalance was pretty much an inevitability.

Re: Fuel Gauge Accuracy

Here are the capacities................. http://www.ownerinfo.jaguar.com/document/4N/2016/T19977/18377_en_GBR/proc/G1660766 This relates to my model year So according to that, there was a tad over 5 ltrs (usable) still in the tank. That doesn't exactly equate to 32 miles, more like 42. :? Stop with...

Re: Fuel Gauge Accuracy

Has anyone 'tested' the lower end? I decided against filling the other day (mis)calculating I had enough to see me through the week. I probably will manage but it currently shows '38 miles to Empty'. That may well drop some more when I start it, though I'll still have enough to get to the filling s...

Re: Stone Chip Repair kits

Like most of these things I'd prefer to test it out somewhere it didn't matter. There are often wrinkles in the methods that need to be practiced to get the best job. The bonnet is probably the most visible part of the car, so needs to be perfect.

Are these fixable by your 'dents away' type bloke or are the doors aluminium where such things can't be massaged out ? Typical it would be the mint side and not the other side...

I did, and I didn't find it a problem with the X-Type, perhaps a little tight but doable.
I heard the Mondeo was quite roomy inside.
;)
Quite a bit more, for the same (ish) footprint. A lot easier to get in and out of as well.

Re: Boot Space

And for four people??? Can still get 4 people in as not folding the seats down, but if you mean 4 people and their luggage then no saloon in this category is going to take 4 full size cases, you just have to pack a bit less each! I did, and I didn't find it a problem with the X-Type, perhaps a litt...

Re: Brake caliper maintenance

A torque wrench is considered correct practice. What do you do when you've had a puncture and fitted a spare?? For paint look at Half-rods heat-resistant range.
