Re: Autocar Review 2021 Model

Having seen the front end treatment on the new 4-series and apparently coming to the 3 series, I think the XE has taken several steps up in the looks department.
Comparing the two.
I just wonder who it was who signed this monstrosity off??

Re: Stolen :(

As has been said, eventually they will find ways round the tech and it was only recently there were reports that a Range Rover Sport had passed the relay theft method due to new tech making the keys sleep after a while and stop transmitting. Do we know if this is true? Of course not and if it is the...

It doesn't really help because it doesn't give you a list of devices that work in the USB to play audio. It would be helpful if people who use the USB for their source of audio to list the device they are using.
From the manual under "Media".

Re: Radiator grill

Regarding the radiators and the small covers, are they like the RR and Bentley where they open up as the engine gets hotter to allow for quicker warm up ? It appears so. When I first saw them I wondered why I had a set of venetian blinds in front of the rad. Bit of research showed that full fat RR'...

Re: Radiator grill

As regards the stone damage. I never saw one fault that could be put down to a stone. Photos showed leaks from joints in the condenser but no impact damage. It was a BS excuse by some dealerships to avoid the warranty work and try and fleece owners into heavy costs. A bad batch of condensers on earl...

Re: Ingenium engines and what are the differences

The new p300 is a 1.5 3 cylinder with electric assist That could confuse some people. The P300e is a plug in hybrid with the 3 pot petrol engine (200PS) and electric motor - up to another 108PS hence the "300" branding. It also isn't available on the XE at this time. The P300 is still a 2 litre tur...

As regards the steering column noise, I recall others had this issue on earlier cars and I believe there is/was a technical fix/document on it.
Try a search in the search box of "steering column noise" or similar to bring up previous topics on this issue.

Re: XE-S acceleration

This has been mentioned a few times in the past. If you stomp on the gas pedal it will confuse the car slightly and you can almost sense it thinking "WTF" before it selects too low a gear, screams for a second or so before it gets it's act together and finds a good gear. Both my V6's did this and ma...
