Re: Boot lid locking relief!

Sold my XE a while ago but managed to lock my Mercedes (keyless entry) key inside the car in the only place it allowed the car to self lock. Wife rescued me then, but later realised I could use the Mercedes app on my phone to open car and retrieve key. Can't remember if Jaguar app allows you to unl...

Boot lid locking relief!

Ever since the days of Saab ownership and in particularly the 9-5 model, I have been almost paranoid about locking the keys in the boot. On that car if that happened it was a very costly exercise to remedy that situation, costing in excess of £1000 to replace ecu`s etc. So, with the XE lets see what...

Re: H149 recall

The XE went in today for the recall, it took around three and a half hours. On my 2016 model year car (diesel) , It involved a new EGR valve, Oil and filter change, and some updates to the software. The oil they used was Castrol Edge Professional 0w-30. Delighted to say that far from a drop in perfo...

Re: Parts

I’ve seen a couple of US Jag parts websites that have exploded diagrams with part nos. That’s correct. There are many US dealer sites that have this. Here’s one for example: https://parts.jaguartreasurecoast.com/ That is exactly what I had in mind, thank you so much. At some stage it will be intere...

Parts

I wonder is there a way either online or a download to see parts information on the XE. Jaguar dealers tend to be geographically spread throughout the country and if a part is required then a phone call is usually necessary to order it. This can often lead to confusion to what is required. So much e...

Re: Centre Cupholders - Collapsed?

Had this on mine, one side became `unfastened`, caused a rattle which took a little bit of finding. I used a very thin line of super glue under the edge on the loose side, held in place for twenty seconds until it sets....no longer a problem! It is either that or the centre console out.

It's an issue with the timing chain and vct actuator. The chain is on the back of the engine right near the gearbox and clutch area. There isn't a fix for it as far as I'm aware.
Can you elaborate any on this?

Re: Brakes

Hi All, I need brake pads and discs all round. I'm looking on GSF and its giving me a few options in terms of disc size (diameter, etc). How do I know what is the right one? And can I go bigger if I wanted to (any advantages?). Are the pads one standard size? Any recommendations on brands I should ...

Re: Not a happy Bunny

nicpy, and Mike I would like to try charging the battery in situ but disconnected, to re set things - but vespa said not to do this in a previous post in this thread because there would be too much to reset on the car, windows/radio etc etc. So I am not sure if it is worth the risk/effort. Not sure...
