Re: 2015 used buying advice

If you do annual oil and filter changes a diesel should not be a problem. If you go down that path choose a 180 with as much extras as you can find. I wouldn't worry about timing chains under 80000-10000, even then they should still be OK. It's like all cars, thrash them hard all the time and you wi...

Re: Disc question (Brembo)

Someone on here changed his own discs and pads and the Jaguar OEM discs were marked BREMBO as fitted in the factory.

Re: 2015 used buying advice

Don't cast off the diesel versions as the 180 gives out 111gm of CO2. You may get a better younger car than a petrol since diesel became as popular as the Devil's back passage. Road tax is £35 and mpg is higher into the late 60's or more depending on how it's driven. Buy from a dealer if you can rat...

Re: Home Jet Wash? Easier Cleaning? Karcher?

I will admit to using the snow foam as already mentioned in another post but it is a fiff faff of a job connecting everything up. However, that said, it does give the car a good effortless clean. Once done and you wait 10 mins for it to work you will need to power wash off. Then you will need to get...

Re: Air conditioning not working !

DO NOT use do it yourself recharge kits. The XE has the later refrigerant and it needs the correct equipment for repressurising it. The cost is around £140 ish. You may find someone will do it cheaper. Try the larger tyrefitters as a lot have now got the new systems in their garages. This is Kwik Fi...

Re: Air conditioning not working !

The stone through condenser rubbish was a myth. My AC was not working and a trip to the dealer fixed it FOC. The system had gone below working level refrigerant. When I asked about leaks they said none were found but top it up to max. Then a few weeks later it felt the same. I went back to the deale...

Re: DA Polishers - Any Advice?

Temp is critical with polishes and coating. Most will apply in the sun and it bakes on and makes a shiny mess. The best time is very light cloud or no sun altogether witha temp around 16C. That is just enough to flash off the liquid. Also one panel at a time and no swirl polishing . It's better the ...

Re: DA Polishers - Any Advice?

I bought a polisher several years back and found it to be cumbersome. It was meant as an amateur tool. The better more expensive ones are very good but they have to be used very carefully. My choice is elbow grease, 8 hour labour intensive. First I hose to get off the gritty bits, snow foam, wash ag...
