Re: Oil leak from rear?

I'd get a few quotes from transmission specialists etc. £700-900 seems a lot for the actual amount of work, but these are main dealer prices. Yep I think the labour is like £140 an hour or something daft like that. Its not actually a difficult job but Id rather the dealer do it in case something go...

Re: Oil leak from rear?

This is a very rare issue with the XE so hopefully it will be sorted. It's not uncommon on the F-Type but one word of warning. If the correct torque settings aren't used on the cover plate etc then it can knacker the diff. A few were overtightened which meant a new diff. https://www.ftypeforums.co....

Re: Oil leak from rear?

Just had a word with my indy. He goes its most likely the front pinion seal that needs to be replaced. Needs a lot of specialist tools to sort out but hes done one on a Range Rover about a year ago. Also said not to worry about it. The Diff holds about 1.2l of oil and a couple of 20cm patches should...

Oil leak from rear?

Just moved my car forward to wash it and noticed some spots of oil from between the rear wheels.

Any idea what it is? Car drives fine with no weird noises or anything. First time I've seen it too as it's left a waterproof patch on the drive. Smells a bit weird if I must say!

Re: Road Tax

Its all a bit of a scam. No revenue due to CO2 emissions..... yes, lets start taxing cars over £40k which is a significant proportion of the market nowadays. The easiest way is to simply make an MOT compulsory every year for all cars regardless of vehicle age and tax calculated via mileage. 2p a mil...

Re: Paint is Paint, and Painted Parts are all alike?

Keep it simple.

Use the same polish on all painted parts of the car unless one panel is in worse condition i.e. scratches / swirls

Dont worry about burning through with a DA polisher - its nigh on impossible to do unless you're using bodyweight and stay in one spot for atleast 10 minutes.
