Re: Spare wheel

Something I would not be without personally. I see that one comes with a jack and brace. You can of course buy a wheel and tyre and source your own jack and brace which is what I did when I bought mine in 2016. I also got an extending brace which is useful to give you a lot more leverage. You will n...

Re: The long wait

Hmmm, I placed my order Yesterday and delivery date is stated as end of January. But I am waiting for a more definitive date.. hmmm bloddy hell, I don't want to wait that long! EDIT: I re read properly in that you have CHOSEN to wait for the 21 plate. I also went for the P250 S R Dynamic, Carpathia...

Re: Driver side wiper replacement -

NIGHTMARE! Just tried fitting and it wont go, the plastic housing on the wiper adapter just doesn't look compatible. Went for this for driver side - https://www.halfords.com/motoring/wiper-blades/bosch-ap28u-wiper-blade---single-974352.html Anyone got experience of fitting that model? Thanks. Ouch!...

Re: My first DEF refill!

Last question on this - as I have an earlier model XE without the display to see how full my DEF tank is am I better off just adding a small 3.5 liter top up, removing the risk of overfilling? The message to say it's low has only been on for around 50-60 miles so I would like to think I have a dece...

Re: Driver side wiper replacement -

Replace both wipers as a matter of course. Don't bother faffing with the service/park proceedure as it can be done with them resting at the bottom of the screen. Put a towel on the screen doubled up under the blade and that will protect the screen should the arm hit it with the blade off. To remove...

Re: TOPIx

It does seem like a pretty pointless thing to do. I can understand them charging for workshop manuals etc but not hiding basic build info on your car.

Re: Oil leak from rear timing cover / sandwich plate

Thanks BOBCDP, I have spoke to JLR where my timing chain was replaced under warranty. They reiterated the fact that I am out of warranty and the only thing they can offer is for me to pay £200 for the diagnostics and then to fight with the service dept to see if they will do a gesture of good will ...

Re: Warranty

Welcome. Halfords sell the Bosch replacements (W16W) cheaply. They are the awful push fit jobs so take the opportunity to make sure the rest in the unit are seated properly. Test they are working before you put the tail light unit back in and faff around skinning knuckles. Don't ask me how I know t...

Re: Oil leak from rear timing cover / sandwich plate

If the timing chains were replaced under warranty and now there is an oil leak caused by faulty workmanship during the replacement. never mind about parts warranty, the main dealer where you had the original job done should sort it out at no cost to you. Sounds to me like they are trying to fob you ...
