I’m also currently off following radiotherapy so my poor XE hasn’t been used much. I figure it is OK to take the car out for a run as long as I don’t actually get out - just a nice round trip to give him a run and keep him happy. It's a bloody shame Bev. Here we are, on the brink of resuming normal...

I underwent radiotherapy in December/January, and as the side effects increased, I stopped driving. I got back to it a couple of weeks ago, only to find all my usual outings have been shut down.

If you're talking about when you switch the engine on, I raised the same question not long after I bought my XE. I was advised that it's meant to do it, to get the oil pumped round. After about 40 seconds it settles down. I now wait for it to settle before pulling away.

It sounds like quite a lot of this thread is about developments in the English language that people find annoying, and grammar mistakes, rather than true spelling mistakes. The Institute for Energy Research was founded in Texas, and maintains that free market solutions are the way to deal with global energy and environmental challenges.
I suspect that their research might not be in line with the scientific consensus.
