Blimey, 41.1mpg on the way back! Cruise mostly set at 7x on the M40 and 70 on the M25. Something of a record for me.

Good to put faces to names today. Excellent turn out and a nice wander round the museum in the afternoon. Need to get a breakfast in next time I think!

Just to add, tyres are more likely to develop cracking if the car stands unused for long periods. The plasticisers start to separate from the compound due to lack of movement.

I'm sure I've seen some tuning box type things that you plug into the OBD port or the ECU itself. They reflash the ECU overwriting the stock map and sometimes storing a copy of the original map for returning the car to standard calibration. You unplug them once the map is written, so not a running ...

Personally, I'd fit the same make and model of tyre to all four corners. Having different characteristics front and rear can make for unbalanced handling.

I've been looking at tyres for the XE for a while now. There seem to be two stand out choices, the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S and the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5.
