Re: Car hunting time!

 If I thought they were equally reliable, and well made, I'd agree with you and take the Jag too. I've owned a 330i and an XE-S. With the 330i, even though I owned it when it was between 4 and 7 years old, I never got into it each time thinking to myself "I wonder what is going to go wrong ...

Re: Screenwash

I've used the Halfrauds pre mixed for years without issue. The -10Deg stuff is good, they also used to do a -27Deg one which I've never managed to freeze. Not the best at cleaning the glass, but stays liquid at the coldest UK temperatures. Gunged up screenwash bottles are usually caused by microbial...

Re: Car hunting time!

If I where going BMW, it'd be the M2, but while the M2 is more fun on a gnarly road, it is a chore of tyre noise and thump on a long cruise. 3 series is OK, but I'd take the Jag all day long. The last good 3 series I drove was the V8 M3.

Re: Red tyre dots

I had an incident with a pot hole in my hired XES and lost a front tyre. The fitter mounted a Jag spec Dunlop on the rim with the dot in the correct place and the wheel needed no balance weights at all! Either excellent tolerancing all round, or lucky. I tend to use fitters that do the job properly ...

Re: Car hunting time!

I know White isn't Red or Black, but there's a white XE-S at Inchcape Preston almost zero mileage ex-demo, for £35.5K. I would have bought it myself, but white is not for me, nor are 20" wheels. It's been advertised for a long time, and the price has gradually come down from more than £40K. They wa...

Re: Car hunting time!

I'm thinking that a regularly used, privately owned 20,000 mile car may be a better bet than a 6,000 mile ex Jaguar car?

Re: Car hunting time!

Thanks for the info folks. I'm trawling the approved website on a very regular basis. Only two red ones in there when I looked last, mostly black or grey though.

Car hunting time!

So the hunt now begins in earnest, track car gone, space for XE 8-) I'm looking for an XE-S, favourite colours are red or green. Green XE-S seem to be rare as rocking horse droppings and red ones not much more common. I considered a black one, main dealer 380, ex Jaguar car, low miles, so went to ha...

Re: Underside Trim Damage

You'd be surprised at how hot diesel fuel gets when it's being pumped around a common rail system. Even on the old VAG PD engines, the diesel in the tank could be visibly fuming when refueling.
