Hi all
Just joined this forum so go easy on me.
I'm sure I know the answer to this, however....
I'm looking at the xe as an option for a company car, but trying to future proof myself (4 yr lease) in case we go for child no.3. Anyone know the rear seat width and whether there is any hope of fitting 3 car seats? The car width at 1850 is generous but I don't know if that translates into interior width too. Other options being considered are vw passat ( cheap) and volvo v70 (BIG!). Would love anyone's views??
Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve in my opinion the rear seat width will certainly be wide enough for 3 child seats as it is slightly wider than a 3 series but and its a big but the rear seat shaping may not allow for 3 seats as it is biased towards a sporty feel especially in the r-sport and S models the jaguar rep did say it is more a 4+1 seating arrangement as the middle seat is compromised by the centre console being fairly large so it is large enough for 3 adults but the 3rd has restricted leg space as for child seats they vary in size so you may be able to get a smaller sized seat inbetween but as the xe is only fitted with 2 isofix points in the rear this suggests only two have been allowed for it is something you would personally have to find out ie measure youre child seats and take a trip to a dealer with a tape measure i hope this helps.

Some of the child seats are massive too. As mentioned above the middle seat is where you're likely to have issues.

One thought I did have - and you're braver than me if you go for it - suggest the wife sits in the back and fit a child seat to the front. ;)
