Yes, but you probsbly used it after a short while in the car? It's the first 5 minutes or so where it cycles the connection a few times and then becomes stable. That's how mine is anyway.

Nope, straightaway before I even turned the engine on I connected to my music app on my phone and it was fine the entire time, no drop outs at all.

Yes, on the same day i've driven from A to B; B to A and then A-C without an issue, but then drop outs from C-A. No apparent rhyme or reason. I've tried switching wi-fi hotspot off, turning some phone notifications off, putting Apps to sleep. Are Jaguar still offering ICT on new models, because if not, I doubt there will be any updates?

Hi,
I have got a response from Samsung support:

To be continued...
Useless response :!:

It's a Jag issue anyway, bluetooth works fine with other devices.

Its not, its an issue by where the latest phone software has introduced a driver which is not backward compatible with the earlier bluetooth standard (which it is supposed to be)........

Disco Sport is the only model with Touch at the moment

Samsung in particular seem to be suffering the most and it's mostly with version 9.

I had 6 months of fault free usage with my Galaxy Note 8 on version 8 of Android but the problems started as soon as i 'upgraded' to version 9. I believe there was a link on here that Samsung had admitted there was a problem and they were looking into it as it is a worldwide issue and not just JLR. They are apparently working on it...

The PITA is that is is such a random occurrence that it's seems impossible to nail down the cause. I can go days with little problems then i'll leave the same location at about the same time on another day and the ruddy things drops constantly. You don't even need to have anything active as i sat in the drive watching the status screen keep cycling the bluetooth connection and i wasn't on a call or using music etc. I'm assuming a fault in the connection triggers the drop and then the automatic re-connection and this goes on until it stable.

Damn annoying!

From this problem and the loss on my Incontrol I would not consider an Andriod phone again and will go to I phone if I renew the handset. To have so much problems after this update is just not acceptable.

I would like to throw my hat in the ring for this, just in case Samsung or Jaguar might be reading.

Our XE is primarily used by the Mrs. I recently convinced her that Apple is devious and has her locked i to their world, and that my Samsung with Android was superior. Much to my surprise she parted with her long held loyalty to the iPhone and got a shiny new (and very good) Samsung S10.

With a two hour commute each day in the car she is now very unhappy with me. She can't make calls or listen to her music. Samsung and/or Jaguar are ruining her life, and in turn she will ruin mine!

Please someone fix this problem!

EDIT: I should add that this problem is made worse by the fact that my Samsung Galaxy S8 works flawlessly

So does mine.
Had the update to version 9 and I also did the March security update myself and no issues at all.

I think Samsung and Jaguar have become incompatible. Too many complaints everywhere for it to be a one off problem.
It's strange as iPhones always used to cause issues and that seems to have gone quiet.
Until version 9, Samsung was always rock solid.
However, it seems to have gone pretty quiet generally as there were a considerable number of people with issues.
Are they still having issues with the same phone as previously or have things been fixed?

kierank, you'll have to swap phones with her. She'll have one that works in the Jag and you'll have a nice shiny new one :D

Galaxy S8 same problem since security update. Annoying.

Android forums show its down to a change in the Bluetooth stack and is hitting loads of connected devices (not just automotive).

Given the Touch system is supplied by Harman and Harman are owned by Samsung.......there is some hope

There was talk of some workarounds as an interim

Funnily enough mine has just pinged up the security update for May 2019.
Might not impact anybody having issues but you never know and it does optimise all the apps as well.
:D

At lunch time I put my Iphone 6 on charge (in the house). I've just been out to the car to look at the Info system and realised that the phone was connected and I could make calls (and see that the battery was now charged). The phone is a good 12 feet from the car through a solid brick wall. I think my Bluetooth connection is good enough!

Still can't find the Info screen that I want.
