How I update maps from USB? My jag 66 plate with incontrol, buttons on each side of the screen. I'm interested to take your flash drive but not idea how to use it.
Your older system should use an SD card to update maps rather than a USB.
It's a different system .
Do a search on "SD card" and several threads come up.

Yes, I have a SD card. Wonder if I can update maps just copying new files over SD card files. Something like copy/paste.
There have been a couple of recent threads on copying files etc onto the SD card.
As I said. do a search on SD cards in the search box at the top and they should come up.
The maps on the Here site using a USB aren't the same as the SD card maps so incompatible.
Different system

I think this thread has become rather confused and long.
An SD card is a totally different method for earlier cars.
The Op has said he has a dealer memory stick.
As it's a dealer memory stick then it's likely it has software that will apply it to any VIN.
I don't think for one minute dealers need separate memory sticks for each and every car that they deal with.
The HERE website has a record of your VIN which you supply when signed up so any new maps downloaded from them will be VIN specific for your vehicle.
If the memory stick he is offering doesn't work for your vehicle then you get a very cheap 128GB memory stick.
