frameless mirror - new type

It's a complicated optical trick, and why it wouldn't work for me and my glasses....

To explain it as easily as I can, the image of an object in a mirror is focussed as far behind the mirror as the object is in front, but the image for the camera is in focus at the surface of the mirror, which is acting as a TV screen.

So even the Audi trying to climb my exhaust pipe would be far enough away, in the mirror, to need the distance portion of my varifocals, but if I had the clear view and switched it on, I'd need to use the near part of the varifocals for the Audi to be in focus :geek:

Hopefully that makes sense.

It would work perfectly for a youngster with fully working eyesight, but not for us folks of more advanced years, even if we haven't grown up yet :lol:
