looks a smart car.

Personally I think its the other way round and the Lexus shown looks dated, whereas the XE has a certain timeless quality. In the end its a matter of personal tastes though.

Love to know where that dealer is offering a £4k discount!

There are good reasons for buying a Lexus. The main one is that it will never go wrong. Ever.

This is their differentiator against everyone including the Germans.

In the end no one is buying one of these cars for logical reasons.

For those you'd buy an Avensis or a Siperb.

I'm buying an XE because I just want one.

I drove a nice IS (yes, that was my car)...

Loved its looks, but the interior was horrible. And, Toyota's D-CAT diesel engine was very very bad... loads of power but loads of problems...
