Meridian v Jag audio system

I have the basic 80w system. I find the sound absolutely fine and the quality is perfectly good. The biggest boost to my audio quality was turning off the EQ on my phone when playing music from it.

However, I would definitely do as Ian d says and go and try out the various options to see what you will be happy with. It is the only way to be sure.

I am in the camp of playing my audio relatively quietly so I can still hear outside cues such as horns or sirens or whatever. So for me personally, a high wattage system would be wasted as I would never have the volume up high enough to do it justice. Everyone is different though...

It's not always about the "more power" thing either.
More speakers = better sounds.
More wattage/power means sounds are richer and fuller at low volumes so it's not about having a powerful system and playing it loud all the time.
Phil that is a very accurate correction. Six 10 watt speakers makes for a 60W system. Fifteen of the same 10 watt speakers makes for a 150W system that won't actually manage to create dramatically more volume, but will have completely different sound quality. So as you say it isn't really about volume or power per say.

I guess my feeling is since there will be road noise and wind noise encroaching, and since I rather have my volume down low enough so outside stuff is clearly audible too, I personally wouldn't be too bothered about which system I had. But the 380W system has to give better sound quality one way or the other, regardless of how you listen to it.
